Jetta TDI Clean Diesel 2009 represents 30% of Volkswagen Canada January’s sales
Volkswagen Canada has announced that its January 2009 Jetta Sedan and Wagon sales were well ahead of January of last year with an increase of 110.6%. This increase was fuelled by the availability of Volkswagen’s award-winning TDI Clean Diesel technology which comprised 80% of Jetta sales and almost 30% of Volkswagen’s total sales during the month.

HEY! Don’t make fun of the diesel Rabbit pick-up truck. I drove a purple one with beige interior in high school. Great vehicle, but not much of a chick magnet
We really need a decent smaller diesel pickup!!!
I own a 2006 jetta TDI. Best car I ever owned! But hey I love hunting and living in this big country often need a truck – a 4×4 truck! Currently I have a Ford F250 4×4 with powerstroke diesel. Great truck but way too big and thirsty for what I really need. I used to have a Ford Ranger 4×4 – I only wished it was diesel. They made some early on (with a japenese diesel) but sadly discontinued them. Volkswagen please step up to the plate! We need a Ranger/Dakota type 4×4 pickup truck with a clean powerful, efficient diesel!! You would be the number one truck seller in Canada if not North America! Build them like you built my Jetta TDI and you will be number one in the world!
Give us what is really needed!

You know, if VW was really interested in capturing more diesel sales they would expand their relationship with Chrylser to include the Dodge Dakota chassis. Rebrand it as a VW with the V-6 TDi engine from the Touraeg and contractors and truck guys would be lining up to order one. The old Rabbit trucks with the diesel are still in such high demand I have seen good models in the market for as much as $12,000. Go figure.
