From Halifax to Montreal in 11.5 hours in a Jetta TDI Clean Diesel

Go Habs Go! From Halifax to Montreal in 11.5 hours in a Jetta TDI Clean Diesel

Latest news, Mike’s finally arrived!  It started as a joke in this post between Louis-Alain and Mike Velemirovich, owner of Hillcrest Volkswagen in Halifax, Nova-Scotia but it ended with a 1276 km ride from Mike’s home to Montreal’s Bell Center in a new Jetta TDI Clean Diesel so he could watch the hockey game.

I didn’t have that much time to chat with Mike.  After this 11.5 hours ride, he only had four things in mind:  shower, pizza, beer and hockey!  But he had the time to mention that he drove at an average speed of 97 km/h and got this awesome 4.8L/100km, quite an achievement considering the lousy weather and the heavy pre-game traffic in Montreal’s downtown.

More details to come, including tonight’s score ;-)

Hey Mike,

Congrats on the big trip to Montreal. Did you have to use piss jugs on the way? Either way, that is quite the accomplishment!

Congratulations Mike, what an amazing accomplishment – for the TDI, of course. The Habs won too so it was clearly worth the trip, and all that for the cost of just one tank.
