what is the hold up with the TDI Tiguan in the usa.
It would be the best seller in the small SUV market!

Hey G Dyck,

nice job on the great fuel economy, I averaged 73 mpg on a trip to Virginia 2 years ago in my 2000 NB TDI. Diesel is fantastic and I hope to get a Tiguan TDI as soon as they appear on canadian shores. Here’s to hoping Vw brings it soon.

I had a 1979 Rabbit diesel 5 speed manual for 3 years. I average 70 miles/gallon on a trip across Canada. The dealer did not believe me. I have looked for a North American built vehicle as economical as that ever since with no success. I had hoped that GM would import their Opel technology but I continue to wait. Keep up the good work improving diesel power for North America.

Since each Authorized Volkswagen Dealership has sole control of it’s inventory, we are not in a position to direct you to a particular dealer. Actually, we understand that due to the great demand for the TDI, every new purchasing customer’s name is put on a waiting list , and deliveries are made accordingly.

Volkswagen is working feaverishly to produce more TDIs for the Canadian market.
